nerstrand big woods state park, minnesota
the first camping trip of 2007 and of course it rained. big woods state park is about an hour south of home and is quite a nice little park. the variety and quantity of wildflowers brought many a visitor to the park. we decided not to go friday night, because it was raining by the time I got home from work but, we did manage to get up and out of the house early saturday morning. when we got to the park it was cloudy but nice. as we hiked the clouds rolled in and eventually worked themselves up to a torrential downpour right about the time we got back to the site. thankfully the rain was over quick and the sun came out, just in time for it to set.
